Synthetic Biology (SynBio) is a field of science that combines biology, engineering, genetics, and technology to design or redesign living systems for useful purposes. Synthetic Biology applies engineering principles to design biological parts, genetic circuits, and even new biological systems with planned functions. SynBio is a powerful and creative tool for developing solutions in healthcare, agriculture, industry, environmental protection, and many other areas.
About the Competition
IGSBC is Egypt's first international synthetic biology competition — bringing together undergraduate students from Egyptian and international universities to apply genetics, genetic engineering, and computational sciences to real-world problems. Teams design a full project, from problem framing through proof of concept, and present it before a national and international judging panel.
