Dear Colleagues, Industrial Partners, and Friends,

On behalf of the Armed Forces College of Medicine, it is my privilege to welcome you to the 1st International Genetics and Synthetic Biology Competition (IGSBC), to be held on 1-2 April 2027 at Triumph Plaza Hotel, Cairo, Egypt.

Synthetic biology sits at the intersection of biology, engineering, and computation reshaping how we approach diagnostics, therapeutics, food security, and environmental solutions. We founded this competition with a clear vision: to give Egypt's brightest students a structured platform to move from theoretical knowledge to real-world innovation, and to build a lasting pipeline of researchers capable of leading this field regionally.

Our ambition extends beyond a single event. By bringing together national and international teams, distinguished judges, and partners spanning academia, industry, and government, IGSBC aims to establish Egypt as a regional hub for synthetic biology accessible, rigorous, and connected to the global scientific community.

For every participant, this competition offers more than competition: hands-on mentorship, exposure to leading institutions and companies in the field, and the opportunity to have your ideas evaluated by experts shaping this discipline worldwide.
